Never leave your computer. Recording, editing, captions and export all run locally.

Licensing

When you activate a licence the app sends your licence key and a one-way hash of a hardware identifier. The raw identifier is never transmitted. The app checks in every couple of weeks when online; those check-ins carry the signed licence token and nothing about your use of the app.

Accounts

An account is optional and exists only to manage devices. We store your email, name and session data. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments; we receive your email and order id.

Updates

The app fetches update manifests from assets.smoothcut.studio. That request carries no identifier.
